Back home...

We took the ferry at 23:45 pm at Dover during a tempest, and everybody was sea sick, but I don't regret these hours past in the boat, cause I played at the slot machines (I won 2£ !), and I met some nice people ^^. After the ferry, the trip was really finished, it was the time to come back at home and it made me sad 'cause I would like to pass another week with everybody...

Day 4 : London

It was the time to go to London, and to say goodbye to the families... Then, we walked (and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked...) when we arrived to London, we went to the museum of London (we ate before 'cause we were all hungry) :

After the museum, we walked again (again, again, again...) and this time, we were for one hour, free in London, and I bought a beautiful Donkey Kooooong, and a legendary T-shirt !

Then, we were going to Big Ben, but a girl fainted, so we went back to the bus, and those who wanted it went to Big Ben... I was so cold... but it was beautiful ^^.

And finally, when we had to leave to Dover, the bus broke down... but it was repaired fast, and we weren't late... ^^

Day 3 : Winchester, Salisbury, Stonehenge

Another day in England, and I didn't see any drop of rain (it's so strange...). We were at 8:30 am (35, 40... maybe a little bit late :D) and we went at Winchester ! We visited the Castle Great Hall where we could see the Round table (on a wall...) !

Then, we went to Salisbury, and visited this medieval city.

Salisbury's Gothic Cathedral

Then, we went to Stonehenge, but before we ate in front the entrance, in the wind... my sandwich wasn't good and we were frozen (I gave my sandwich to the ravens...).
Stonehenge is a beautiful place, and I found a lot of friends during the visit :

And we came back to Frooooome, like every day, but this time it was the woman who cooked us something... and it was SO BAAAAD (there I understood the reputation of English people...)...

Day 2 : South Cadbury, Glastronbury

The journey didn't began very well... In fact we were late of 5 minutes but the woman who had to take us to the bus didn't wait us... so we had to cross the town alone, and we can say that English people do not know how to drive their cars... Each time we crossed the street, we were ready to die...

After this little expedition in Frome, we arrived to the bus and we went to visit the ruins of Camelot ! (in South Cadbury). I expected to see some beautiful castle ruins... but Camelot wasn't there (maybe aliens took it away), just plains ! and a well. (And the road to arrive to these plains cross the forest, and it's full of muck ! Poor shoes...)

The well of Camelot

When we came back to the bus, we went to the abbey of Glastonbury, where we can see King Arthur's tomb. We ate outside and played with a little ball, like kids (but it was very funny ^^).
And our quest started, find the Whale bone ! (and Clément found it, f***...)

Another visit : The Chalice Well Gardens, where a new God has born, Kebab ! (we found his sacred relics !). More seriously, these gardens are a place of peace and meditation... and we understood it !

The last visit of the day is the best of the best ! The Glastonbury Tor. After 20 minutes of walk in the steps of the hill, we finally arrived at the summit, and at the tower... and the race started !
We took an other way to go down, without any road... (it was a little bit dangerous, but we are venturers !) and the first who went back up had won... (Matt...).
And it isn't the end ! after we ran in the steps to go back down, and a great boy who wanted to do like the other broke his arm, it was funny 'cause he thought he was strong...

And we went back to the families... and we ate lasagnas ! And played all the night...

Day 1 : Bath

After a night, certainly nice, but very annoying we arrived at Bath. The bus should be immobilized during 9 hours so, we had to wait outside (it was very cold !) between every visit for a long time...

The sites :
  • The abbey of Bath :

The Abbey Church of Saint Peter is an Anglican parish church and a former Benedictine monastery in Bath, Somerset, England. Founded in the 7th century, reorganized in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries, it is one of the largest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in the West Country. The first Saxon king, Edgar has been crowned in 793 in this abbey.

A beautiful stained glass window...

After the abbey, we had a long moment of freedom (I was very hungry !), then we visited the Roman baths !

  • The Roman baths :

The Roman Baths complex is a site of historical interest in the English city of Bath. The complex is a very well-preserved Roman site of public bathing. The Roman Baths themselves are below the modern street level and has four main features, the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, the Roman Bath House and the Museum holding finds from Roman Bath. The buildings above street level date from the 19th century.

This visit wasn't very funny... they gave us their f***ing useless phones (I took one in English and I understood nothing... -.-'), and I lost my friends in the baths ! (And they were eating without me... :'( )

When the night came, I met a very nice man who played the guitar on the street and while he was going to drink his beer, he gave me its guitar! And I played in front of everybody (it was horrible but in winter and outside...). It's probably one of the best moments of this trip ^^.

At the end of the day, we moved to Frome, to meet our families. We said goodbye to everybody and we went at home :p. The man who received us was very nice and he cooked us a pizza !
Finally, I took a shower, I played with my friends, we watched the TV, and we went to bed 'cause a hard day was waiting us !

01/27/2008, 9 pm : Let's go !

We were finally ready to leave for this trip for which we waited for months, all gathered in front of our school, speaking with our friends, saying goodbye to our parents.

The war began when the moment had come to put our bags in the hold of the bus, and those who had only a backpack, as me, where the last to put them in...

After one hour of expectation, we were finally leaving of this f***ing country where it rains everyday, for an other f***ing country where it rains even more... but I was happy 'cause I had never gone in England....
